Not yet! We had hoped to solidify these plans by the end of the World Cup, but the timing has been slower than we'd anticipated.
For now, while we await news on that front, our base of operations is at Medgar Evers College. We're very grateful for this -- the library are wonderful partners & advisors, as we build professional-grade programs for intake & access to Brooklyn's soccer history. Overall, we want to build something lasting, and are happy to be patient in the process.
Yes! As part of our "Nine Champions of Brooklyn" program, we make our borough's history physically accessible to many people -- especially, the communities that the Champion teams represented. During the World Cup, we launched exhibits for three of these teams, spread across multiple sites.
Yes indeed. We still plan this, but openly, not all of our World Cup programs went the way we'd planned originally. Partners dropped, others joined, and a rushed or incomplete history seemed worse than just waiting.
We've made to sure to start the program for each Open Cup-winning team in some way, and still plan to host exhibits for each of them. We'll announce the coming ones on our channels when ready -- and you can find our current programs on our Visit page.
